What is MarchingWiki?
MarchingWiki could be considered several different things, but most of all it is a powerful tool that allows integration of performing groups, competitions, scores, and stats in giant database. Anyone can read, add, and edit the existing information by creating an account. MarchingWiki is special in that the software on which it runs was built entirely from scratch and designed specifically for the marching arts.

Ok...but what can MarchingWiki do that other sites can't?
We fully realize that there are other sites out there that chronicle information about marching arts. That being said, take a look at some of MarchingWiki's key features below and see for yourself what the difference is:

• These aren't just webpages with text on them. Every score, every name, every show title...well...EVERYTHING is stored individually in a steadily expanding database. This means that, eventually, MarchingWiki will be able to produce all kinds of graphs, stats, records, etc. using the information our users provide.
• A little work goes a long way - you don't have to do much to have a big impact on MarchingWiki. For example, say you just created/found a MarchingWiki page on your drum corps/band/guard/drumline and you notice for the year 2002 a competition is missing. Using MarchingWiki's powerful editing tools, you add that competition to the 2002 results for that group. At the same time, the MarchingWiki software automatically creates that competition so that other users can add their groups/results to it later on. Maybe you'll come back in a week and notice that 5 more groups have been added to the competition.
• MarchingWiki applies to all the marching arts. This isn't about one aspect of marching, its about the big picture. We want ALL the information. The more people we have adding their knowledge the more useful MarchingWiki becomes.
• It was built specifically for the marching arts. There are several kinds of Wiki software out there, WikiMedia from Wikpedia being one of the most popular. They are all great, but MarchingWiki was designed from the ground up for the marching arts...there's just nothing else like it.
